Mental abuse is the most often forgotten kind of abuse. It is often over looked because it leaves its victims without any visible scars. This kind of abuse leaves victims traumatized, and often leads to the victims developing mental disorders.
Mental abuse is also sometimes referred to as emotional abuse; examples include abandonment, mockery, isolation, intimidation and threats. Most of these’s examples are presented in today’s prisons. The most emotionally disturbed in prisons are the inmates that are in solitary, solitary confinement was first introduced in 1800’s as a more human way of dealing with prisoners, what they failed to see was the impact it would do to them psychologically.

Bobby Delelo is a man who has spent most of his life in prison, and has a personal experience with solitary confinement. After leaving prison he went on to earn his bachelors degree in sociology.
